“From concept to final delivery, the team was a trusted collaborator in helping bring our vision to life,” said Alex Mancilla, ExtraMile Brand Manager, Chevron. “They provided thoughtful feedback and helped us evolve ideas as the project took shape. Their coordination across production made the entire process seamless. The result is a series of videos we're incredibly proud of, and we're grateful for their collaboration throughout the project.”
“Five years ago, ExtraMan was a re-design,” said Dylan Amundson, Director of Marketing, Drake Cooper. “Today, he’s a universe, one of the most distinctive worlds in the convenience story category. And that is thanks to our client trusting us to keep building that world.”
Drake Cooper is an Ad Age Small Agency of the Year that is fast becoming an indie hot shop with an expanding national footprint. The shop has been the quiet force behind the Chevron and Texaco brands for almost two years, building platforms and messaging for ExtraMile Convenience Stores and redesigning ExtraMan as capable, relatable and fun. The work has helped fuel broad awareness of the nationwide store chain as well as its line of ExtraGOOD products.
“This campaign was the result of a truly collaborative journey between Drake Cooper, Scholar, and the ExtraMile team,” said Scholar Creative Director William Campbell. “We worked together to uncover the authentic heart of the brand, while pushing the envelope to deliver fresh and exciting narratives. It was about striking the balance of what’s true to ExtraMile, while crafting stories that felt fun and new for the audience.”
Scholar’s work encompassed 3D animation, character/product/environment design, and visual effects. You can view a case study here:

“After last year’s full redesign, we didn’t just refine the world, we expanded it,” said Liam Elias, Associate Creative Director at Scholar. “This year, everything is bigger. Not just in scale, but in life. Every corner of the frame is breathing - people, cars, birds, even bunnies. Because the goal isn’t to build a beautiful backdrop, it’s to build a world you believe exists the moment you look at it.”
