SISU Cinema Robotics' SISU Lab receives CGW Silver Edge Award (NAB 2023)

CGW has officially announced SISU Cinema Robotics' SISU Lab as a recipient of the CGW Silver Edge Award (NAB 2023).
Selected by CGW's editorial team, the annual Silver Edge Awards recognize the most innovative and impressive technologies on display at the NAB Show. These best-of-show selections demonstrate remarkable advancements in the field of computer graphics.

SISU Cinema Robotics' SISU Lab

SISU Cinema Robotics has been quietly innovating game-changing robotic camera technology, making easy-to-use equipment with completely programmable motion control capabilities. SISU is making doing the impossible possible, in a fraction of the time. Their devices are extremely agile and intuitive, providing complete control of camera movement in real time through their powerful robotic equipment, extending the camera’s capabilities with features to make complex camera moves easily achievable.

At the 2023 NAB Show, SISU Cinema Robotics prepared interactive demonstrations of their robotic camera technology in the heart of NAB’s central hall with MagicBox who, in collaboration with SISU, unveiled their MagicBox LED Superstage. The collaboration featured SISU’s robots doing the seemingly impossible, demonstrating a visually remarkable experience filming scenes in real time with a virtual screen, which marked a big step forward for virtual production thanks to the simplicity of using SISU’s robots.

The demonstration showed just how easy and programmable SISU robots are for anyone to operate, delivering fluid, exact motion while significantly cutting down on production time and cost. Unlike most of the robots on the market, no engineering PhD is required, so SISU equipment appeals to DPs and filmmakers working at any scale.

SISU Cinema Robotics' SISU Lab software was designed from the ground up to give filmmakers the tools they need to achieve virtually any camera move and to achieve it fast. The software features a familiar time-based interface with touch-based gestures and the ability to dive deep into every detail of a camera move as needed. From push-ins, to orbits, to hundred-keyframe one-takes, SISU Lab gives filmmakers full and intuitive control over their robots.

SISU Lab also features motion filters for precise movement control, intuitive target tracking, VFX integration with Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, and Maya, and much more.
