The third edition of the highly anticipated ACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition in Asia will be held in the capital city of Seoul, Korea, from December 15 to 18. Holding true to its SIGGRAPH tradition as a convergent point in technology, business, art, culture, and science, SIGGRAPH Asia is expected to draw over 8,000 industry luminaries, trade professionals, and practitioners in the field of computer graphics, interactive techniques, and the business of research and development of tomorrow’s technologies.
Following the success of SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 held in Yokohama, Japan, SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 continues its tradition to present the best in research and development to a worldwide audience through these programs. Distinguished speakers who are highly respected in their field of work will be invited to share their experiences. The three-day conference expects to feature an array of thought-provoking works and breakthrough ideas from over 50 countries, presented through these programs:

Computer Animation Festival: Presents the year's finest achievements in computer animation and visual effects by artists, designers, researchers, and scientists from around the world. The Festival features two screening categories, the highly anticipated Electronic Theater and the Animation Theater. Panel discussions and talks on selected pieces will also be conducted to further enhance insights gained from the screenings.



Courses: Stimulating instructional, educational sessions by international academic and industry experts addressing computer graphics and gaming professionals or students with the aim of developing a technique or skill on the latest advances in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Topics range from the basic foundations of computer graphics and interactive techniques to highly technical summaries of the latest research breakthroughs with special-focus courses on games and stereoscopic 3D.

Technical Sketches and Posters: Provides a dynamic forum for new and thought-provoking ideas, techniques and applications in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Its content ranges from academic research to industrial development and from practical tools to behind-the-scenes explanations of commercial and artistic work. It provides an ideal platform for the presentation of unpolished innovative ideas, high-impact practical contributions that build on existing research and “cool tricks” that help users solve challenging problems.

Technical Papers: A platform to present and discuss new and provocative research from the academia and industry. Carefully selected from hundreds of submissions worldwide, the Technical Papers presented at SIGGRAPH Asia are amongst the most respected for their innovative ideas and breakthrough concepts in the academic community and technical industry. Accepted Technical Papers are presented at the conference and published in a special issue of ACM Transactions on Graphics.
