4Dviews, the leader in volumetric video solutions, today announced that it will introduce its Unity plug-in for volumetric Gaussian Splatting at the
AWE USA 2026 conference in Long Beach, CA next week, June 15-18. The patented 4Dviews HOLOSYS Splat software can instantly export PLY and SPZ files to Unity, enabling the only dual volumetric pipeline in the industry, offering producers both mesh and textures and Gaussian splats immediately.
4Dviews will demonstrate the new Unity plug-in and the full HOLOSYS pipeline in Booth #935 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The Unity plug-in is available for download by contacting 4Dviews at contact4dv@4dviews.com. 4Dviews will unveil its Unreal Engine plug-in in the coming months.
The 4Dviews HOLOSYS system can export in 4DS for mesh and textures and the SPZ and PLY industry standards for Gaussian Splats, for both offline playback and real-time rendering, which is a huge advantage for producers and directors who want to maximize details and textures. Generally, closer shots are best with mesh and textures, and Gaussian Splat images appear better from medium distance.
“We’re building pipelines for content creators to go even further,” said Richard Broadbridge, CEO of 4Dviews. “Content creators have more freedom with 4Dviews – they are only limited by their imaginations. There is a new grammar for immersive experiences – whether for training, education, or entertainment – and it is increasingly created with volumetric capture.”
Broadbridge will appear on the ‘Immersive Theatre: Building the XR Stage for New Audiences’ panel at AWE on Thursday, June 18th, from 2:20-2:50 pm in Room 103C of the Long Beach Convention Center, with noted immersive theatre director Kiira Benz.
4Dviews is represented in some of the leading experiential productions around the world, including ‘An Ark,’ which premiered at The Shed in New York City in January; ‘Playing with Fire,’ which premiered at La Philharmonie in Paris in February, and ‘Inside,’ which premiered last September at the Bristol Old Vic in Bristol, UK.
The 4Dviews Gaussian Splatting advancement highlights 4Dviews' ongoing R&D investment in modular pipeline design, scalable visual fidelity, and rendering technologies suited for immersive media production, while providing total freedom for high-quality productions.
About 4Dviews HOLOSYS Splat
The 4Dviews HOLOSYS Splatting pipeline expands the creative and technical possibilities of volumetric production. This development enables a dual-export pipeline where creators can choose between traditional mesh-and-texture workflows or Gaussian Splatting, depending on their production needs. With this capability, production teams can now support complex visual elements — including hair, fur, reflective and translucent surfaces, and intricate props — while maintaining full compatibility with existing capture workflows. The result: richer, more realistic storytelling, and expanded shooting freedom.
Unlike traditional implementations of this technology, 4Dviews has engineered its integration for greater stability and higher fidelity in challenging scenarios. The company is focused on adapting the method to support a wider range of performances and use-cases — from low-bandwidth streaming to high-fidelity offline rendering — while maintaining backwards compatibility with all HOLOSYS-captured volumetric assets. This innovative approach provides greater dimension to all aspects of the performance, from higher detail on the hair to the more realistic representation of complicated props like a guitar.
About 4DViews
Born from years of research at the INRIA Institute in Grenoble, France, 4DViews has focused on making high-quality creative tools as accessible as possible, with the highest resolution for volumetric video capture. The 4Dviews HOLOSYS system enables producers to deliver stunning experiences, from the Ryuichi Sakamoto ‘Kagami’ mixed reality experience to Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Megalopolis’ to the Cannes Immersive Award-winning ‘Noire.’ Thanks to 4DViews' Creators Platform, producers have a database of tutorials, third-party plug-ins, and sample volumetric video data that enable creative stakeholders to form a vision before starting their project. Musicians, including Woodkid, K3, Latto and Coloray, have used 4Dviews, as have leading advertisers such as H&M and Prada. 4Dviews is headquartered in Grenoble, France and has stages worldwide.
