ASIFA-Hollywood's Animation Educators Forum will host its ninth salon event – Visual Language for Animation in the Age of Emojis, GIFs and AI with animation educators Kathy Baur and Caroline Hu from CSU Fullerton on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 11am PST on Zoom.

Caroline will present some of the concepts from her newly published book, Mastering Character Design: Design with Intent and Purpose. Kathy will debut her three-minute film,
Romeo and Juliet, A Parody in Silhouette, and discuss how she applied these concepts while creating the short.
In addition to many years of teaching animation at the university level, both Caroline and Kathy have extensive industry experience. Hu worked as a character designer on projects such as Walt Disney's The Lion King and Warner Bros.’
Osmosis Jones. Baur worked as a color designer on Netflix’s
Green Eggs and Ham and as a checking supervisor on
Space Jam: A New Legacy.
ASIFA-Hollywood is the world’s foremost professional organization dedicated to promoting the Art of Animation and celebrating the people who create it.
