VIEW Animated Feature Directors to Discuss 93rd Academy Awards

TORINO, ITALY – In an exclusive online PreVIEWevent, VIEW Conference assembles a panel of a dozen acclaimed film directors, who will discuss the contenders for the animated feature category at the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards.
Free to attend, the PreVIEW panel Animated Features Oscar Contenders – A Directors’ Discussion takes place on March 5 at 10:00 PST.  

During the 90-minute session, 12 talented animated feature directors will discuss this year’s Academy Awards contender line-up. In conversation will be Glen Keane (Over the Moon), Pete Docter and Kemp Powers (Soul), TommMoore and Ross Stewart (Wolfwalkers), Joel Crawford (The Croods: A New Age), Walt Dohrn (Trolls World Tour), Kris Pearn (The Willoughbys), Dan Scanlon (Onward), Gitanjali Rao (Bombay Rose), Will Becher and Richard Phelan (A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon). 
 
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences first recognized the potential of animated features at the 11th Academy Awards in 1939, when Walt Disney received an Honorary Oscar for his seminal motion picture Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In subsequent years, other animated features were occasionally honored with Special Achievement awards, until the category of Best Animated Feature was finally introduced in 2002, at the 74th Academy Awards, when producer Aron Warner received the iconic gold statuette for DreamWorks Pictures’ Shrek.
