VIEW Announces 2019 Full Program

TORINO, ITALY   – VIEW Conference,   Italy’s annual International Digital Media Conference ,  celebrates its 20th edition with stellar speakers and workshop leaders, over 20 workshops and master classes, and a concert led by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino. The event, Italy’s largest, will be held October 20 to 25 in Turin’s new OGR conference center .

“We’re so excited that Directors Brad Bird, Peter Ramsey, Conrad Vernon, Dean DeBlois, Eric Darnell, and Sergio Pablos will be at VIEW 2019 for our 20th anniversary celebration,” says Conference Director Dr. Maria Elena Gutierrez. “It’s a further honor that Brad and Peter will give our attendees a chance to learn from them in master classes. Our attendees can also sign up in advance for workshops by Danny Dimian who was visual effects supervisor on Spider-Man: Into the SpiderVerse, Pixar’s Ralph Eggleston, the innovative tech pioneer Tom Wujec, screenwriter David Misch, and others.  And they are just a few of the amazing speakers on our program this year.”

Recently confirmed additions to the expansive roster include speakers from live-action films, animated films, and television:

From Live-Action Films:  Three-time Oscar nominee Guy Williams, visual effects supervisor at Weta Digital for  Gemini Man; VES award winner Daniele Bigi, VFX supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic for  Aladdin VES award winner Trent Claus, VFX supervisor at Lola for  Captain Marvel and Oscar-winner Hal Hickel, animation supervisor at ILM on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

From Animated Films and Immersive Media:  Cinzia Angelini, director of  Mila; Sebastian Sylwan, CTO Félix & Paul Studios; and Dadi Einarsson, Co-founder of RVX, who will present a VR journey into feudal Iceland. 

From Television: Two-time Primetime Emmy-nominee David Misch, screenwriter and Primetime Emmy award-winner Donna Zakowska, costume designer, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel .

In addition, Terrance Masson, chair of MFA computer arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, will conduct a portfolio review , and Angie Wojak director of Career development at the school , will moderate a talent panel. Pixar marketing manager Dylan Sisson will conduct several  master classes showcasing RenderMan. Conducting master classes showcasing Houdini for visual effects, the conference hosts Helge Maus, 3D/VFX artist and trainer at pixeltrain.
