After a long, very public bankruptcy process, VFX facility Rhythm & Hues has been sold at auction to a holding company associated with Prana Studios.
Prana is an artist-driven, full-service 3D animation and visual effects studio with offices in Los Angeles as well as in Mumbai, India.
Prana has extensive experience in the animation and visual effects arenas, having completed work on: TRON: Legacy, Tinker Bell movies
, Transformers: Dark of the Moon,
John Carter, and more. Currently, the studio is working on Disney's upcoming summer animated feature
Planes.
The auction occurred over a two-day period that saw the various parties taking the lead position. However, in the end, Prana came out on top.
