Maxon Acquires Py4D

Newbury Park, Calif. - Maxon Computer, developer of the Cinema 4D modeling, painting, animation, and rendering solution, announced the acquisition of the Python connection Py4D. Following the annoucement of a strategic partnership in late 2009, Maxon acquired all Py4D rights from Tuningchannel. Py4D programmer Sebastian Rath will manage the Python connection to Cinema 4D under the Maxon flag.
Python is a programming language with a simple learning curve. The numerous Python scripts and libraries can be utilized in any pipeline. Python also enables integration between software apps for the exchange of data and assets.

Harald Schneider, CTO and co-founder of Maxon, says: "With the Python connection for our products, we want to offer an easy and flexible option of adding custom functionality for both users and developers alike."

Until the integraton of Py4D into Cinema 4D has been completed, the most current beta version, including documentation, is available free of charge at www.py4d.com. The Web site also offers a user forum and other valuable resources.
