Nvidia Begins Shipping its Quadro Plex 1000 Visual Computing System

Santa Clara, Calif. - Nvidia Corporation is now shipping the Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000, the world's first dedicated visual computing system (VCS). The NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS, available in three models, is designed to interface with standard workstations and servers to deliver advanced scalability for demanding professional applications, including those powering multiple streams of 4K high-definition video, digital content creation, and visual effects, 3D styling and design, scientific and medical visualization, oil and gas exploration, or visual simulation and training.
Available in a desktop or 3U rackmount configuration, utilizing NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU technology, the NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS provides:
 
- Massive density improvement of up to 20x more than traditional GPU solutions 
- Performance of up to 80 billion pixels/sec and 7 billion vertices/sec
- Resolutions as high as 148 megapixels on 16 synchronized digital-output channels and eight HD SDI channels
- Advanced scalability with multiple configurations from single system to clustered solutions
 
The Nvidia Quadro Plex VCS 1000 is compatible with a certified set of x86 32- and 64-bit Intel and AMD processors running Windows and Linux operating systems.
