"Trickster Laugh"
Benjamin Schupp, the son of a German and an American, grew up in Germany and is currently living in the United States. He received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts in 2003 from Otis College of Art and Design. Schupp recently finished his animated short film "The Trickster's Toys." The film, spanning six and a half minutes, started with an image in his head and some classical music in his ear -- and it continuously grew in scale and content into a three-year extravaganza by one man and his three computers. With the film finally completed, Schupp hopes to release it to the public, first at film festivals and perhaps later on DVD.
Schupp began working in 3D in 1997 with trueSpace from Caligari, and he has been a user of Autodesk Media and Entertainment's 3ds Max since the release of version 3. All of the images presented here were created in 3ds Max 5, textured in Adobe Photoshop, and composited in Adobe After Effects. Schupp also employed a workstation with dual AMD 2000MHz processors, 2GB of RAM, and a ViewSonic 20-inch LCD screen.
