"The Light"
Kent Matheson is the digital matte painter for the TV series Stargate SG1. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art, Toronto, Canada, in 1991 and has also worked as an illustrator and designer.
This scene is from a November 2000 episode of Stargate SG1. "The sphinxes are 3D, textured using photographs of deteriorating Egyptian stone statues," says Matheson. "What really helped this shot was that the lighting was rendered with radiosity, matching the light quality of the filmed plate quite well."
