Autodesk Viz 4 Goes Global

According to the company, the lighting features in Viz 4 are easier and more intuitive to use than those of its predecessors because the software lets designers position lighting fixtures as they would in the physical world. To provide natural daylight, a user simply specifies the location, date, time, and cloud conditions in the scene.

The new version also features improved interoperability with other Autodesk applications such as AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, Inventor, and Discreet's 3ds max.

Autodesk Viz 4 runs on Windows NT/2000 machines with a recommended 512mb of RAM. The cost of the software is $1995. (Autodesk; www.autodesk.com) -JD
