The mean scores represent the combined, weighted results of the 10 tests, measured in the number of frames per second the machines were able to execute. The larger the numbers, the better the performance. The $ per composite figure represents the system price divided by the mean score.

Collaborative design software maker Alventive (Santa Clara, CA) announced that it will spin off its IronCAD division (Atlanta, GA), which is responsible for developing and marketing the IronCAD solid modeler.... SDRC (Cincinnati, OH) has acquired Inovie Software (San Diego, CA), a collaborative software provider.... ATI Technologies (Markham, Ontario), a supplier of graphics, video, and multimedia products, and graphics card manufacturer SonicBlue have announced the proposed sale of SonicBlue's FGL Graphics division to ATI at a cost of up to $10 million. FGL Graphics makes the FireGL brand of OpenGL-based graphics accelerators.... Solid imaging manufacturers 3D Systems (Valencia, CA) and DTM Corp. (Austin, TX) have announced a merger agreement under which 3D Systems will buy all outstanding shares of common stock of DTM.... Eovia Corp. (Sunnyvale, CA), publisher of Carrara 3D modeling software, has been acquired by TGS NV (San Diego, CA), developer of the software Amapi 3D.
