The printer can quickly produce high-quality line drawings and full-color 3D images, renderings, and maps on both bond and photo-gloss media. It's capable of printing up to 600- by 600-dpi color images in several modes, including super draft, draft, normal, and best. For example, it can output a 2-foot by 3-foot full-color plot in super draft, 600- by 300-dpi mode in 1 minute, 40 seconds. The same size plot will print in 6 minutes, 32 seconds in 600- by 600-dpi best mode.

The CADJet 3D includes a variety of AutoCAD and Windows drivers that allow users to print from most Windows 95/98/NT/2000 applications. It also includes vector-raster driver support. The cost of the printer is $7499. (EnCAD; www.encad.com) -JD
