Spotlight: TurboCAD Goes ACIS

In addition to the features above, the Professional version of TurboCAD 6.5 comes with a self-healing wall tool that enables walls to intelligently interact with each other, automatically adjusting their forms in reaction to edits or other changes. The new Professional version also comes with LightWorks-based Raytrace and Radiosity capability for more realistic rendering of architectural and product prototypes. TurboCAD Professional has the ability to export to 25 different file formats (the Standard version exports to only 16); and a materials editor that allows the application of 3D textures such as brick, glass, metal, plastic, or wood. Users can also import BMP files as new textures, and all textures are fully editable.

TurboCAD requires a Pentium-based machine running Windows 95/98/NT, with a recommended 64mb of RAM. TurboCAD 6.5 Professional costs $299.95. The standard version is $99.95. (In ternational Micro computer Software, Inc. [IMSI]; Novato, CA; 415-878-4000; www.imsisoft.com)
