SPOTLIGHT: Video Toaster for NT Turns Two

The storyboard editor will allow users to drag and drop video clips into a project for immediate playback, and also make it easy to manipulate audio or video in-and-out points, scrub though a whole project or jump to a specific clip, and export a storyboard production as an AVI file to any third-party software. New digital effects include the ability to use shadows, reflections, refractions, fog, lens flares, smoke, radiosity, caustics, and surfacing filters, all in real time. The streaming video output allows users to stream either live programs or edited productions directly to the Web for distribution.

Video Toaster 2.0 is scheduled to ship in the second half of 2000 for a cost of $2995. Minimum system requirements for the program are a Microsoft Windows NT-based system with a 166mhz Pentium processor, 128mb of RAM, and a drive system capable of 22mb-per-second throughput.
