Software developer Diehl Graphsoft (Columbia, MD), maker of MiniCAD Vectorworks, has been acquired by software development firm Nemetschek AG (Munich, Germany) in a transaction valued at approximately $30 million....SGI (Mountain View, CA) has announced that it will sell its Cray vector supercomputer business to Tera Computer (Seattle, WA). When the sale is completed, Tera will assume ownership of SGI's entire Cray product line....Microsoft (Redmond, WA) has announced plans to develop its own video game console, codenamed the X-Box....Software developer Kaydara (Montreal) has acquired Triple Vision Technologies (Montreal), developer of the Mediarise family of broadcast systems, which will be integrated with Kaydara's Filmbox product suite.... Matra Datavision (Les Ulis, France) is now offering open source code for its Cas.cade geometric modeling libraries. The code, available at www.opencascade.org, is called Open Cascade....CAE software developer LMS International (Leuven, Belgium), with the University of Leuven and seven other high-tech companies based in the Leuven area, has co-founded Leuven.Inc, which will serve as a knowledge-sharing vehicle between the founding organizations.... CAD/CAM/CAE systems integrators Incat (Hemel Hempstead, UK) and Integrated Systems Technologies (IST; Novi, Michigan) have agreed to merge their companies and operations....CADKey Corp. (Marlborough, MA) has agreed to buy two CAD software products from Merit Computer Solutions (UK). The new products will be marketed as CADKey Power-Pak and CADKey True Text....Dassault Systemes (Suresnes, France) has agreed to acquire manufacturing process software developer EAI-Delta from Engineering Animation Inc. (Ames, IA).
