Designing the Future




Using Alias| Wavefront's StudioTools software, the participants created a new look for familiar objects, using their vision and design experience to craft a style for the next decade. Competitors were asked to project five to ten years into the future and express their personal vision, assessing the overall impact of emerging technologies, new forms of interaction, utility, and lifestyle changes.

An international panel of industry ex perts selected the win ning images from more than 50 entries. Award were presented to the following: First place, Aaron DeJule; second place, Dong min Lee; third place, Casey Wright, Tad Toulis, Andrew Zee, and Pierre-Yves Du bois; honorable mention, Tim Sharpe. Up to $70,000 in cash and prizes were presented to the top designers on March 28 in Toronto.
