Calvin College Provides Real-world Experience

Iroquois, Canada - Calvin College, a Christian liberal-arts college in Grand Rapids, Mich., has invested in a Vision 2 QMD Multi-Definition Digital Production Switcher, to provide students with real-world experience and to broadcast "Inner Compass," a weekly nationally distributed half-hour show.
Calvin College updated its SDI production facility to HD-SDI, replacing its Ross Synergy switcher with Vision to enhance its students' education. The college takes pride in providing students the opportunity to learn using the same production equipment as in a professional setting. Vision will help propel Calvin's efforts in education while reducing operational costs due to the reliability of the equipment. Calvin started using Vision in January 2009 to broadcast "Inner Compass," a television interview show that explores how people make decisions about ethical, religious, and social justice issues. "Inner Compass" is a half-hour show currently available via PBS in SD, soon in HD.
