VisionFest 2007 Student Animation Festival To Open at IUPUI in August

Indianapolis - VisionFest 2007, a juried digital arts festival for high school and college students, will be held on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) August 16 through 18, 2007.
VisionFest is a juried student animation festival created by the New Media program at Indiana University’s School of Informatics to encourage, promote, and support future development in animation, new media, and interactivity.

Entries will be judged in five categories: 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Visualization/Simulation, Sequential Art, and Integrated Media (the submission deadline was June 1). Best of show winners are awarded $1000 cash prizes.

“One of the unique and most appreciated features of VisionFest is its guarantee that every entry meeting minimum submission requirements receives a written critique from a panel of judges,” says Mark McCreary, assistant dean.

Last year, more than 200 students sent samples of their digital creations for judging by professional animators and digital artists.
