Shotgun Shoots out of Beta

Shotgun Software is formally releasing Shotgun at SIGGRAPH 2010. The production tracking and collaboration system has been in private beta for more than a year and has already amassed a dedicated client base of more than 170 visual effects, video game, and postproduction facilities. Shotgun Software is exhibiting at booth #1218, alongside integration partners Tweak Software and PipelineFX. Shotgun is a Web-based production tracking system designed specifically for the visual effects, animation, and video game industries, allowing all parties involved in a project instant access to critical data, messaging, and real-time project progress. Shotgun is also launching a new Open Source Project for tools, extensions, and add-ons for the Shotgun application framework. This new program enables Shotgun and its customers to collaborate on future pipeline integration tools and share them with the entire Shotgun community. The company is also previewing Version 2.1, the next major Shotgun release, which adds custom work schedules, linking to local files, multiple-file uploading, notifications for submitted versions, and customizable statuses to the system’s robust set of production tracking and collaboration tools.
Upon launch, code from both third-party developers and high-profile studios will be available, including:
• C++ API Wrapper from Tippett Studio
• Python API from Shotgun
• Java API from Shotgun
• File Uploader from Laika Studio
• RV Integration from Tweak Software
• cineSync Integration from cineSync
• Event Driven Trigger Framework from Shotgun
