FOX Sports to Enhance Super Bowl XLVIII Broadcast With Player Tracking

MELVILLE — FOX Sports will use ChyronHego’s TRACAB Player Tracking System and Paint Sports Telestrator to incorporate real-time player tracking and advanced gameplay analysis data into its live coverage of NFL Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, February 2.

First introduced in the 2013 NFL season, FOX Sports will leverage ChyronHego's TRACAB tracking technology in conjunction with Sportvision's tagging software during Super Bowl XLVIII. The combined solution will identify and graphically label players and track their movement, speed, and distance covered, live and during replays. ChyronHego's Paint Sports Telestrator ― debuted in FOX Sports' 2013 post season MLB coverage ― provides powerful graphics animation tools that will help FOX Sports quickly highlight video content such as player match-ups, zooms, offensive plays, routes, rushing yardage, tackles, and more.

"ChyronHego is honored to help FOX Sports bring its coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII to life," said Kevin Prince, EVP of North American sales at ChyronHego. "The beauty of TRACAB and Paint lies in each system's speed and easy-to-use functionality and ability to bring engaging visuals and insightful gameplaydata to the fans at home."

"FOX Sports is committed to finding innovative ways to better analyze gameplay and bring the excitementinside the stadium to the football fans at home," said, Michael Davies, VP, field & technical operations at Fox Sports Media Group. "TRACAB and Paint integrate easily into our production workflow and simplify the data visualization process so we can focus on telling the best story for our viewers as it unfolds."
