Villa Restoration for Feature Film

Category: News
Whether you're mad about architecture, an avid film fan or both, there is a Kickstarter Project to secure patronage to restore the Eileen Gray E 1027 Villa. The goal is to preserve an important 20th Century monument to modern architecture for posterity and kickstart a film dedicated to Eileen Gray's right to be recognized as one of the most influential designers of the Modernist Era.

Filmmaker Mary McGuckian's EG Film Productions Limited, Lightstream Pictures and Saga Film producing the Eileen Gray movie, titled "The Price of Desire," are partnering to complete permanent restoration work on Gray's iconic Villa E 1027, raising funds on Kickstarter.

Permanent restoration work will be carried out by the production's designers, including Academy Award-nominated Anne Seibel, in full consideration with the architects in charge of the restoration of the villa and its surrounding site. To fund the film's additional art department budget to undertake this work, the producers have reached out to supporters via Kickstarter, offering benefits related to the film and replicas of Eileen Gray's work.
