Quantel launches Pablo Rio — Reinvented, Interactive, Open

Quantel launched Pablo Rio at IBC 2012, its new high-end color-correction and finishing software. Pablo Rio is the only high-end color and finishing solution that is available as a choice of software or as a manufacturer-backed turnkey system.

Pablo Rio runs on high-performance PC hardware and exploits NVIDIA Maximus multi-GPU technology to deliver true interactivity. Client-attended sessions can take full advantage of Pablo Rio's performance and its comprehensive tool set.

Pablo Rio is available as software to run on the user's own hardware and storage. It is also offered as a range of fully configured and tested turnkey configurations running on the latest PC hardware. Pablo Rio comes with the choice of the Neo or compact Neo Nano color panels, giving customers even more flexibility in how they configure their system.

Both software and turnkey systems integrate into today's data-centric post pipelines and work across a wide range of data formats, including high frame rate, stereo 3D, OpenEXR, RED HDRx, Sony F65, Arri RAW, Canon, Phantom, Silicon Image and GoPro.

"Pablo Rio has been keenly anticipated and a number of systems have already been shipped to customers around the world," said Quantel Marketing Director Steve Owen.
