E-on software Announces 3D Environment Competition 2011

Beaverton, Ore. - E-on software, a provider of 3D sky, light, and nature technologies, in association with Maxon, Google SketchUp, Pixologic, 3D Total, Ballistic Publishing, 3D World Magazine, CG Society, and Cornucopia3D, announced the sixth edition of the 3D Environment Competition, designed to showcase the capabilities of 3D technology for CG environments.

Any version of Vue--including Pioneer and the Personal Learning Edition (PLE) which are available at no charge--can be used to enter the competition (standalone or in combination with any other 3D application). Users may also use Carbon Scatter, e-on software's instancing plugin for 3ds Max, Maya and Cinema4D.



Judging will be based solely on the quality, realism and artistic merit of the entries, not on the software version used to create them.

With 9 prestigious judges representing the different fields of the 3D industry, this competition is a unique chance for artists to have their work exposed to the eyes of industry experts, as well as winning an extensive set of 3D tools and resources.

The 3D Environment Competition 2011 judges are leading figures in the world of 3D graphics, representing the Motion Picture, Game, Media and Broadcast industries:

The winner of the 3D Environment Competition 2011 will receive more than $6,200 worth of prizes, including: Vue 9.5 xStream ($1,495), 3D Total Mega Bundle (>$1200), Cinema 4D Prime Release R12 (>$995), Pixologic Zbrush 4 ($699), Google SketchUp Pro 8 ($495), Carbon Scatter Multi CE ($395), LumenRT Review for SketchUp ($295), d'Artiste Character Modeling Volume 1, 2 & 3 ($225), 1 year subscription to 3D World magazine ($150), 1 year subscription to 3D Creative and 2D Artist magazines ($81.2), $100 voucher for Cornucopia3D content, Realism in Vue Training book, ($59.95), and a 1 year CGSociety Membership ($29.95).

The first runner up will receive Vue 9.5 Infinite ($995), Pixologic Zbrush 4 ($699), Google SketchUp Pro 8 ($495), LumenRT Review for SketchUp ($295), d'Artiste Digital Painting Volume 1 & 2 ($150), 1 year subscription to 3D World magazine ($150), 1 year subscription to 3D Creative and 2D Artist magazines ($81.2), $75 voucher for Cornucopia3D content, Realism in Vue Training book ($59.95), and a 1 year CGSociety Membership ($29.95).

Submissions start July 6, 2011 and end August 31, 2011.

The winners of the competition will be announced On September 8, 2011.
