AJA Recognized with IBC Awards for Ki Pro Mini and KONA 3G

Grass Valley, Calif. -- AJA Video Systems received two awards at IBC 2010: one for its new, portable Ki Pro Mini file-based recorder and one for KONA 3G, its new multi-format SD/HD/Dual Link/3G/2K video I/O solution for Mac and PC-based systems.
Ki Pro Mini received a Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award, the industry’s longest-running product technology award, given in recognition of products that can bring significant technical and financial improvements to a broadcast or production facility’s operation.

KONA 3G was recognized with a TV Technology Europe STAR Award, given to technological innovations that contribute to advancing the broadcast industry by helping users save money or accomplish tasks in an easier way.

AJA’s Ki Pro Mini is a smaller, lighter version of its portable tapeless recorder, Ki Pro, that captures to the Apple ProRes 422 codec directly from camera. The portable Ki Pro Mini flash disk recorder mounts to digital cameras and accessories, enabling it to fit in small spaces for on-set capture of 10-bit 4:2:2 files that are immediately ready for editing. It delivers 10-bit, file-based acquisition, going from lens to post in a flash. It is priced at $1995.

The KONA 3G capture card features 10-bit uncompressed video 3G/HD/SD SDI I/O, HDMI 1.4a output for stereographic monitoring to consumer 3D displays, 8-channel AES digital audio I/O (16-channel AES with optional K3G-Box) and 16-channel SDI embedded audio I/O, real-time hardware-based up/down/cross conversion to support a range of SD and HD, dual-link HD, even 2K formats, a hardware-based downstream keyer, an optional K3G-Box for additional connectivity and more. It is priced at $1995.

Both Ki Pro Mini and KONA 3G are planned for availability this month.
