Noise Industries Introduces FXFactory 2.0.6

Boston - Noise Industries, developer of visual effects tools for the postproduction and broadcast markets, has released FxFactory 2.0.6 for Adobe After Effects CS3/CS4, Apple Final Cut Studio, and Apple Final Cut Express applications. A free update for existing FxFactory 2.x customers, version 2.0.6 adds such features as preview thumbnails in the host application, designed to simplify the process of finding the right FxFactory filter, generator, and transition directly inside the host application.
A recent winner of the DV Award of Excellence (January 2009), FxFactory offers more than 300 visual effects plug-ins optimized for real-time performance on the Mac platform, says a representative.

The new 2.0.6 release adds two plug-ins and core infrastructure enhancements for optimizing overall effects creation workflow and image quality.

"The new FxFactory Thumbnails Preview feature alone will make our customers very, very happy," comments Niclas Bahn, director of business development at Noise Industries. "Instead of having only a name to identify a specific plug-in users will also have a thumbnail preview right inside in their Apple Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express,  and After Effects application. This makes the process of browsing and finding a specific plug-in much more efficient. It is going to be one of those simple but very significant features that once you have it you cannot live without it."

Customers can download the free FxFactory 2.0.6 update from www.noiseindustries.com.

The free update of FxFactory Pro 2.0.6 runs on Apple Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

New features and functions include: Thumbnail Previews allows users to quickly find the right effect for their project by providing a small preview of each FxFactory plug-in inside the host application menus. Thumbnails can be customized or turned off via a new preference available in the FxFactory application. Blocks Dissolve reveals variable-sized blocks in the destination image according to a static or animating pattern. Banding-free Gradient generator lets users create a linear or radial gradient with certain features that can reduce or eliminate banding artifacts caused by codec compression.

FxFactory Pro is available for $399. Additional plug-in packages are available for free or commercially starting at a price point of $29.

Adobe After Effects CS3, Apple Final Cut Studio 2, and Apple Final Cut Express 4 users can test drive hundreds of FxFactory plug-ins by downloading the free 15-day trial version from www.noiseindustries.com/fxfactory.
