Cascade SIGGRAPH Presents Bring Your Own Art

Portland, Ore. - Cascade ACM SIGGRAPH, Oregon and Southwest Washington’s local SIGGRAPH chapter, announced “Bring Your Own Art” (BYOA), scheduled to take place Thursday, July 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Art Institute of Portland, Ground Floor, located at 1122 NW Davis in downtown Portland, Ore.

Equivalent to an “open mic night,” BYOA is a celebration of the local computer graphics community and offers artists a chance to share computer-generated artwork ranging from animation, 2D and 3D models and works in progress, to fine art and Web design. BYOA promises to be fun and creative while offering an opportunity for artists to share their work with peers, learn from others, and get inspired.
   
To show your art, contact Michael Smith at byoa2008@cascadesiggraph.org before Friday, July 25, and provide the following information:
 
-  Artist contact information, including name, telephone number and e-mail address
 
-  Title of your art
 
-  Description of your art (wall art, sculpture, video animation, etc.)
 
-  Art size
 
Setup for the art show will be at The Art Institute on Tuesday, July 29, between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. If you will be showing an electronic form of your art, then please bring files on disk, DVD, or VHS, and use MPEG or QuickTime formats. Participants are asked to not depend on downloading files from the Internet.
 
The Cascade ACM SIGGRAPH BYOA event will take place Thursday, July 31, 2008, starting at 6:30 p.m. on the ground floor of The Art Institute of Portland, located at 1122 NW Davis, Portland, Ore. The campus is in Portland’s Pearl District near Powell’s bookstore.

This event is free. Annual local memberships can be purchased at the door for $25.00 ($18.00 for students), with cash or check. Sorry, no credit cards accepted.
