Rainmaker Visual Effects Team Wins Gemini Awards for Stargate Atlantis

Vancouver, B.C. - Rainmaker Visual Effects' lead team on Stargate Atlantis has won "Best Visual Effects" award at the 22nd Annual Gemini Awards. The team's efforts were rewarded for work on "No Man's Land," the season three premiere episode of Stargate Atlantis (SCI FI Channel). The other nominees in the category were Above and Beyond and The Great Canadian Polar Bear Adventure.

Rainmaker's winning team includes Debora Dunphy, digital effects supervisor; Tom Brydon, 3D animator; and former staffer Todd Liddiard, compositor.

Rainmaker's team shares the award with Stargate Atlantis's visual effects supervisor Mark Savela and visual effects coordinator Shannon Gurney. Also on the winning roster are Andrew Karr, digital supervisor; Brenda Campbell, lead compositor; and Alec McClymont, lead animator --all of Atmosphere Visual Effects.

This was the first Gemini Award for Dunphy and Liddiard and a second for Brydon.
