Boxx Proves Rendering Time Reduction with 3D Boxx 7500 Workstation Running AMD Quad-Core Opteron

Austin, Texas - Boxx Technologies Inc., maker of high-performance computing systems for visual effects (VFX) professionals, revealed test results conducted by Boxx Labs as to the speed at which the company’s 3DBoxx 7500 and RTX 7500 VFX workstations perform with the new AMD Quad-Core Opteron processor.
The tests determined that Boxx’s 3DBoxx 7500 and RTX 7500 VFX workstations running third-generation AMD Quad-Core Opteron processors render in half the time as the same workstations running on second-generation Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors of the same speed.

The Quad-Core Opteron delivers greater floating-point power, which is critical because ray tracing is a floating point-intensive computation. Boxx’s APEXX 8 Super Workstation is now available with third-generation Quad-Core Opteron processors. With its 8 processors running a single OS, APEXX 8 provides the power of 32 cores to tackle complex challenges in color correction, or to easily simulate complex naturalistic effects involving water, cloth, or hair.
