ATTO, Infortend Offer 4K/Ultra HD Content Solution

AMHERST, NY — ATTO Technology, Inc. (www.attotech.com), a storage, network connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments company, announces a complete joint Fibre Channel SAN connectivity solution with Infortrend (www.infortrend.com), a RAID storage solutions company.
The solution includes ATTO’s Celerity 16 Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), Thunderbolt 2 enabled Thunderlink Desklink Devices and FibreConnect Switches, which have now been certified with Infortrend’s EonStor DS storage systems. This high-performance, end-to-end platform is intended to make the editorial process easier, faster and more cost effective.

According to both companies, the benefits to this solution include: uninterrupted access to storage while maximizing uptime with consistent and reliable access to content; cross-compatibility with support for multiple operating systems; Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) technology to ensure superior performance with controlled latency and acceleration of data; improved productivity of workstations and servers that share storage, enabling collaborative workflows; and simplified management for administration and troubleshooting of multiple paths to storage.

With the increasing adoption of 4K workflows, ATTO and Infortrend’s Fibre Channel solutions enable content creation for simultaneous uncompressed 4K media. ATTO Technology’s Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs with MultiPath Director provide completely redundant, high–performance connectivity for workstation and server applications to Infortrend’s EonStor DS storage. The storage connectivity solution that allows users to manage multiple paths between Mac and Windows hosts and high-end storage systems, MultiPath Director enables streamlined user workflows and the protection of digital assets via consistent, reliable data transfers.

ATTO’s FibreConnect switches provide flexibility, simplicity and enterprise-level functionality for small to mid-range SAN storage. Rounding out the solution is the addition of Thunderbolt 2 technology which brings high – performance connectivity for workbooks, laptops and all-in-ones to the centralized EonStor DS storage pool. ATTO’s Thunderbolt-enabled Desklink Devices convert the Thunderbolt protocol to Fibre Channel, establishing seamless integration of these mobile computer platforms into the existing Fibre Channel SAN.
