NAB Show to Host Finale of International Film Competition

Category: NAB
Las Vegas - NAB announced the finale of the 2009 48-hour Film Project (48HFP) will take place today, April 12. Titled Filmapalooza, the three-day event honors the winning films submitted by 48HFP participants in 2009. The competition, established in 2001, promotes filmmaking and creativity by providing filmmakers with a character, prop, and line of dialogue and giving them two days to write, shoot, and edit their film.

"As the world's largest electronic media event, the NAB Show showcases all aspects of the content lifecycle, including some of the most compelling and innovative technology that is shaping the film industry of today," says Chris Brown, executive vice president of conventions and business operations at NAB. "We are proud that our partnership with the 48 Hour Film Project has been such an excellent fit, and we look forward to hosting an event that has enriched the lives of so many aspiring filmmakers."

NAB Show organizers and the 48HFP launched the 2009 competition during last year's NAB Show. During the 2010 NAB Show, competition winners from over 70 cities worldwide will screen their films for hundreds of viewers and filmmakers. An awards ceremony held Monday, April 12, honors the winning team with a grand prize of $3000, a Panasonic HPX170 camera and a trophy.

Registration for the event is $25.00. Click here <http://nab.pr-optout.com/Url.aspx?522578x250732x-409610> to register online.
