Santa Clara, Calif. - Nvidia, at IBC in Stand 7.J38, will showcase the power of Nvidia Quadro and Tesla professional solutions in demonstrations featuring new advances in multi-touch, interactive on-air graphics, interactive fluid particle simulation for film production, and the latest in GPU-accelerated editing.

GPU computing continues to grow in popularity to accelerate the most complex tasks. These application hot spots can often be rewritten to take advantage of the massively parallel architecture of the graphics processing unit (GPU). A number of new applications and workflows will surface at IBC 2011 from various companies that have partnered with Nvidia that highlight the power of GPU computing in video production workflows, including new video editing solutions and live stereo 3D production.

More than two dozen Nvidia partners on the show floor will be demonstrating broadcast graphics, editing, compositing and effects, stereo production, and encoding and decoding solutions that leverage Nvidia Quadro professional graphics based on the Nvidia Fermi architecture.

The explosive growth of video sources and the use of video for communication of all types of information are driving numerous new business opportunities and challenges for existing video production companies. From security and manufacturing process control to live broadcast and entertainment production, the need for fast access to video sources, and the analysis or modification of those feeds, is exploding.

Nvidia has figured out a way to bring the fast-throughput technology of the Quadro Digital Video Pipeline to other SDI input and output cards, and as a result will expand the capabilities of the Digital Video Pipeline to include these complementary solutions from leading hardware providers.
