Morrisville, N.C. - Vicious Cycle Software, a developer of interactive entertainment and game development technology, announced that Vicious Engine 2 (Ve2) will support the next-generation portable entertainment system (codename: NGP) from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE).

The upcoming launch of NGP will make Ve2 one of the most complete cross-platform solutions available in game development.

“We expect NGP to provide the ultimate experience for portable gaming with its various unique and impressive features and Ve2 will provide game makers the most efficient way to develop the very best games for the system,” says Eric Peterson, president and CEO of Vicious Cycle Software. “We have years of experience perfecting the engine and NGP is another step further in our expansion across every platform.”

The adaptable Vicious Engine suite has been used to design games of every style, offering a range of bite-sized downloadable games for PSP (PlayStation Portable). Vicious Engine 2, which launched in March 2009, is showcased in side-scrolling shooter Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, and Despicable Me: The Game.
